The final match of the Makeitalia Supply Chain Challenge

Modena, 10 July 2024 – Makeitalia press release. The National Supply Chain Championship between Italian Universities has completed the Qualifying phase and is ready to play the final challenge of its third edition.

Supply Chain Challenge: what is it?

It’s called Supply Chain Challenge and it’s not a football, volleyball or baseball championship. It is the first National Supply Chain Championship among the Italian Universities. Created by the Modena-based company Makeitalia, active in the Supply Chain Management sector for over 15 years, the competition between the Master’s Degree courses in Management Engineering is now ready for the final match which will be played in Modena on 17 September 2024.

21 Universities involved, over 1,200 students involved in the Qualification phase, 76 participants in the final challenge, only 1 winning team.

Objectives and Partnership

Designed to bring out the best talents and create new professional opportunities for students, the Supply Chain Challenge has seen a first phase of Qualifications. An 8-month stage race held in the following Universities: Parma, Firenze, Napoli Parthenope, Napoli Federico II, Bergamo, Padova, Cassino e Lazio Meridionale, Rome Tor Vergata, Rome Sapienza, Calabria (Cosenza), Palermo, Trento, Siena, Brescia, Pisa, Bologna, Modena e Reggio Emilia, Polytechnics of Bari, Milano, Torino, Marche.

The final event will also be supported by some international partner companies, who have decided to accompany Makeitalia in this initiative, sharing its values ​​such as concreteness, meritocracy and excellence. Among the partner companies: Ferrari, Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna and DSV – Global Transport and Logistics. The final match, which will be played on 17 September 2024 and will be held at the Modena Golf & Country Club (in the province of Modena), will be a unique opportunity for students to compare themselves with the world of job, as well as being the last challenge that will elect the new Italian Champions of this third edition.

We created the Supply Chain Challenge not only with the aim of creating opportunities for the best talents to find concrete jobs, but also to give students the opportunity to put their skills in the Supply Chain Management field, with a tool innovative training program developed by Makeitalia, the Supply Chain Game. The Supply Chain sector is, in fact, constantly evolving and requires competent talent in this area every day. For us it is a source of pride to have hosted the third edition of the Supply Chain Challenge this year in 21 Italian Universities. We continue to see growing numbers compared to previous editions and the continued support of partner companies who support us in this initiative. The growth of Makeitalia and the new Smart Factory services

Modena, 2 July 2024 – Makeitalia press release. The management of its customers’ supply chains consolidates the growth of Makeitalia, a Modena-based company that is a point of reference for companies in Supply Chain Management, which concludes the year 2023 with a turnover of 18.2 million euros (+50% compared to 2022).

The activities of 2023

The last year saw the acquisition of important national companies among its customers, the development of new opportunities abroad, with a view to internationalizing the company, and many projects linked to the digitalisation of the Supply Chain, of which the Smart Factory is a concrete example of this. Another important innovation is the attention to the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) theme, in which Makeitalia has invested both in specific consulting projects, but also internally: a company photovoltaic system, the installation of eco-sustainable equipment in the area production and logistics, social commitment, support for local businesses, attention to gender equality and new governance control systems.

The last year saw also the growth of human capital, the primary resource for the Emilian company. The yar 2023 saw 46 new hires. Makeitalia constantly invests in people, with the aim of promoting and maintaining a positive, productive, inclusive, inspiring, meritocratic and rewarding work environment every day.
