Makeitalia’s Supply Chain Challenge Kicks Off its Fourth Edition

The Supply Chain Championship Among Italian Universities Returns

Following the announcement of the winning team of the third edition of the Supply Chain Challenge, which took place during the final event on 17th September 2024 at the Modena Golf & Country Club, Makeitalia is now ready to launch the fourth edition of the Supply Chain Championship.

The Supply Chain Challenge is an event conceived by Makeitalia, a Modena-based company that has been specialising in Supply Chain Management for over 16 years. It is the National Supply Chain Championship involving various Italian universities, particularly those offering Master’s degree courses in Management Engineering.

This is an innovative and meritocratic initiative aimed at highlighting the best talent through practical experience, discussion, and training.

A concrete tool developed by Makeitalia, the Supply Chain Game, allows players to simulate and take on key business roles that manage a supply chain, then assess the consequences and impact of their decisions on business performance. It offers a true-to-life supply chain management experience, providing future professionals with the opportunity to test their knowledge and skills through direct involvement.

Thus, the fourth edition of the Supply Chain Challenge begins. The qualification phase will take place from November 2024 to June 2025. This edition sees the confirmed participation of the following universities: the University of Parma, the University of Naples Federico II, the University of Naples Parthenope, the University of Florence, the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Sapienza University of Rome, the University of Rome Tor Vergata, the University of Bergamo, the University of Padua, the University of Calabria-Cosenza, the University of Palermo, the University of Siena, the University of Pisa, the University of Brescia, the University of Bologna, the University of Trento, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, as well as the Politecnics of Milan, Turin, Bari, and Marche.

A new university has joined the Championship in this edition: the University of Udine.

Right now, over 1,300 students are participating. The univerisity from all the Italian Peninsula are involved.

The final phase, which will take place in September 2025, will determine the winning team of the fourth edition of the Supply Chain Challenge.

The game is on – the 2025 Championship begins!
